Privacy Policy

1. About this Policy

Lift Portfolio Management Pty Ltd ABN [TO BE INSERTED] (LPM, we, us, our) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information in connection with the LPM platform available at liftportfoliomanagement.com.au.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. What Information We Collect

Account information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and the name of your organisation. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.

Organisation details: ABN, phone number, contact email, and address if you choose to provide them in your organisation settings.

Billing information: Payment details are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. We store your Stripe customer ID, subscription plan, and subscription status.

User Content: Documents you upload to the Platform — including lift contracts, maintenance invoices, inspection reports, and service records. These may contain personal information about contractors, technicians, and other individuals.

Usage data: We collect information about how you use the Platform, including pages visited, features used, and actions taken. This helps us improve the service.

Waitlist information: If you join our waitlist, we collect your name, email address, and optionally your phone number.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

  • provide, maintain, and improve the Platform
  • process payments and manage your subscription
  • authenticate your identity and maintain account security
  • process documents you upload using AI features
  • send transactional emails (account confirmation, payment receipts, subscription notices)
  • send product updates and announcements (you may opt out at any time)
  • respond to your support requests
  • comply with our legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your User Content to train AI models.

4. AI Processing

Documents you upload are processed by Anthropic's Claude AI to extract structured data (such as contract terms, invoice amounts, and defect descriptions). This processing occurs solely to provide the Platform's features to you.

Anthropic's privacy policy governs how they handle data sent to their API. We send only the content of uploaded documents to Anthropic — we do not send your name, email, or billing details. Anthropic does not use API data to train their models.

AI-generated outputs are informational only and do not constitute professional advice. You remain responsible for verifying the accuracy of all AI-extracted data.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We share limited personal information with trusted third-party providers who help us operate the Platform:

  • Clerk — authentication and user management. Stores your name, email, and login credentials.
  • Stripe — payment processing. Handles all card transactions and stores payment methods securely.
  • UploadThing — file storage for documents you upload to the Platform.
  • Anthropic — AI processing of uploaded documents.
  • Neon — cloud database hosting where your account and portfolio data is stored.
  • Vercel — cloud hosting for the Platform application.

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and security practices. We select providers who maintain appropriate data security standards.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers located in Australia and/or the United States, depending on the service provider. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

Despite our best efforts, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm to individuals, we will notify affected users and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by law.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account and portfolio data for as long as your Account is active. If you cancel your Account, we retain your data for 30 days to allow for account recovery, after which it is permanently deleted.

Waitlist information is retained until you request deletion or until 12 months after the waitlist closes.

We may retain certain records for longer periods where required by law (for example, financial records for tax purposes).

8. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you
  • request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • request deletion of your personal information (subject to our legal obligations)
  • opt out of marketing communications at any time
  • make a complaint if you believe we have breached the Privacy Act

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@liftportfoliomanagement.com.au. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy complaint, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

9. Cookies and Tracking

The Platform uses cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and understand how the Platform is used. Essential cookies are required for the Platform to function and cannot be disabled.

We do not currently use third-party advertising or analytics cookies beyond what is necessary for Platform operation.

10. Children

The Platform is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice on the Platform. The updated policy will take effect from the date it is posted.
